Author: Joanna - Pillsbury
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (1 oz) packet Taco Seasoning Mix
- ½ cup water
- 1 cup (4 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count)
Toppings
- Shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sliced ripe olives, taco sauce or salsa, optional
Heat oven to 375°F.
In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook beef until no longer pink. Drain beef; return to skillet. Add taco seasoning mix and 1/2 cup water. Simmer 3 to 4 minutes or until slightly thickened. In medium heatproof bowl, mix beef mixture and cheese. Let cool while preparing the crescent ring.
Unroll both cans of dough; separate into 16 triangles. On ungreased large baking sheet, arrange triangles in ring so short sides of triangles form a 5-inch circle in center. Dough will overlap; dough ring should look like the sun.
Spoon beef mixture on the half of each triangle closest to center of ring.
Bring each dough triangle up over filling, tucking dough under bottom layer of dough to secure it. Repeat around ring until entire filling is enclosed (some filling might show a little).
Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until dough is golden brown and thoroughly baked. Cool 5 to 10 minutes before cutting into serving slices.
Sprinkle desired toppings over the crescent ring before serving, or onto individual portions.
How to Store (and Reheat) Taco Crescent Ring
Leftover Taco Crescent Ring makes a great lunch the next day. Here’s how to keep everything fresh and delicious.
Refrigerator Storage
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Be sure to store leftovers within 2 hours of finishing preparation.
Freezer Storage
Freezer storage may compromise the crescent texture; we do not recommend freezing leftovers for this reason.
Reheating
- Microwave: Microwave your leftovers on High for 1 to 2 mins, adding 15 to 30 second intervals if needed, or until warmed through (165°F).
- Toaster Oven: Cover leftovers in aluminum foil and put in the toaster oven at 350°F for 5 to 7 minutes or until 165°F.
