Ingredients

  • 2 sticks melted or softened butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp. almond flavoring
  • 3 cups frozen cranberries

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉.
  • Whisk butter (softened or melted), eggs, and almond flavoring in mixing bowl. Slowly add flour and sugar until a batter begins to form.
  • Add 3 cups of cranberries. Berries may be fresh or frozen with no thawing or slicing necessary. Fold batter until cranberries are covered in batter.
  • Spray 13″ X 9″ baking pan with cooking spray. Once prepared, spread batter evenly in pan and bake at 350℉ for 1 hour. If you like your edges crispy, let it bake until the top is completely golden brown.

Notes

This is also a great recipe to get kids involved in the kitchen. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, babysitter, or teacher, the easy measurements and quick simple steps make it fun for little hands to get involved.
If you’re feeling a little adventurous, use Frozen Cranberries and Frozen Blueberries to add an extra flavor to your squares.
Help Hints:
Do not thaw cranberries. Thawed cranberries will break and bleed into the batter and make it pink!
Hand mix the batter for a denser square, like a brownie. If you want a more cake-like square use an electric hand mixer.
