Dark & Smoky Chipotle Salsa
This salsa is saucy, similar to the jars of salsa you can buy with rich and smoky flavor. Perfect as a dip, a side in burrito bowls, or an accompaniment to tacos, fajitas, or nachos.

Ingredients
- 2 onions finely chopped
- spray oil
- 3 cloves garlic crushed
- 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 (14oz) can chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp chipotle chili flakes
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp honey
- Small handful cilantro leaves and stalks finely chopped, plus extra to serve
Instructions
- Sauté onions in spray oil for 5 minutes. Stir in garlic.
- Add balsamic vinegar. Stir it through the onions. Then add chopped tomatoes, chili flakes, smoked paprika, salt, and honey.
- Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in cilantro.
- Serve warm or chilled, scattered with extra chopped cilantro.If you are setting this aside to serve chilled, give it a stir before serving.
