Home-made Taco Seasoning
Why make your own Taco Seasoning? Well, first, your homemade results will be much better than any commercial brand, and you can make up as much as you want for future use. But, more importantly, you don't want many of the ingredients in commercial brands of Taco Seasoning. One brand contained: Yellow Corn Flour, Salt, Maltodextrin, Paprika, Spices, Modified Cornstarch, Sugar, Garlic Powder, Citric Acid, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Natural Flavor, Caramel Color.I have no idea why most of these ingredients are in there. Note the sugars: Maltodextrin, and Sugar.This recipe is much better
Servings: 4 tablespoons
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1½ teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Combine all seasonings together and store in an airtight container.
Notes
- I used one recipe in one pound of ground turkey.
- Recipe can easily be doubled and use more or less to taste.
- I also like to add ½ cup of water to the meat and seasonings to make the meat more moist.
